Cisco Systems VoIP Phone Tutorials

Contents

As part of the campus-wide roll-out of the new VoIP phone system, the ITS department has provided campus users with online tutorials for their phones. The easiest way to tell your model number is to count the number of buttons to the right of the display screen:

  • 7945g = 2 Buttons
  • 7965g = 6 Buttons
  • 7975g = 8 Buttons

Click on the image or model number of the phone you have been issued to see the tutorial.

Cisco Unified Call Manager

The Call Manager is where a phone user can make individual changes to their phone set up (such as set speed dial numbers for unused buttons.) The Call Manager requires you to login with your Network Username and Password, and can be accessed here.

To access the Cisco Unified Call Manager:

1) Open the call manager in your browser by clicking this link.

2) Login to the Call Manager using the login area to the right of the page, using your network username and password:

3) This will put you on the User Options page. Click the User Options button to activate a drop down menu and choose the item you would like to modify.

4) Although each screen may look and act a little differently, make sure that after making any changes, you click the save button, which is normally located at the bottom of the page.

If you have any questions or concerns about changing user options for your phone using the Call Manager, please contact the Help Desk at 503-493-6300 or via email at support@cu-portland.edu

Voicemail Setup and Default Password

Setting up your voicemail is an easy process! Just:

1) Pick up your handset and hit the button with the Envelope on it, on the right-hand side of the phone. If, after completing this step, the Attendant does not ask you for your PIN, but asks you to dial an extension number instead, please contact the Help Desk to have your voicemail box reconfigured.

2) You will then be prompted by the Phone Attendant to enter your PIN (this should be the default PIN: 12345)

3) The attendant will now walk you through the setup of your voicemail box.

Remember - when setting up your voicemail for the first time, you will need the default voicemail password to get into the system. It is 12345.

If you have any questions about setting up your voicemail for the first time, contact the Help Desk at 503-493-6300 or via email at support@cu-portland.edu
