One of the most frequently asked questions the Tech Center receives about use of the campus printers is how to set up double sided printing. In this article we will learn how to use double sided printer or intentionally single side print.

In can be done a few different ways depending on the printer you are using or application. Select an option from the table of contents on the right to learn more.


MS Office Applications

For Microsoft Office 2013 applications, the print view itself gives you the option for double sided printing regardless of what printer you print to. It will look like this:

From the File tab, find Print on the right-hand column and click to open the Print Preview/Setting screen. To choose double Simple choose to Print on Both Sides from the dropdown menu under settings.

From PDFs

When printing PDFs, the printing options will appear slightly different according to what printer you choose. Below is a sampling of the most common printers found on the Concordia Portland campus.

After the user chooses "Print" it will open a print options menu. Look for the Properties button, and click.

From Kyocera 4020DN

For the model Kyocera 4020DN (GRW-Circ, LibRes, CMP, etc) look for the Duplex option. Check the box for "Print on both sides" and select either "Flip on the long edge" for regular portrait oriented documents or "Flip on the short edge" for documents printing in landscape view.

From RICOH Aficio MP 2500

For the model RICOH Aficio MP 2500 (LibCoin, Cent-Basement B/C, Gym 2500 B/C, GRW-315 B/C, etc) look for the Duplex option. Open the dropdown menu and select either "Open to the Left" for regular portrait oriented documents or "Open to Top" for documents printing in landscape view.

From RICOH Aficio MP 5000

For the model RICOH Aficio MP 5000 (HLab-B) look for the Duplex option. Open the dropdown menu and select either "Open to the Left" for regular portrait oriented documents or "Open to Top" for documents printing in landscape view.

For Kyocera 1350DN

For the model Kyocera 1350DN (GRW-STACKS-2/3, etc) look for the Print on both sides option. Check the box for "Print on both sides" and select either "Flip on the long edge" for regular portrait oriented documents or "Flip on the short edge" for documents printing in landscape view.
