In this article we will show you how to connect to CCNY's Virtual Desktop. From there you will be able to access various resources such as Banner and and PIN Look Up Tools.

Before proceeding with these steps you must first complete the account setup/creation process here.


First Time Log In Setup

1. Follow this link to access the portal where you will reset your Active Directory password and download the virtual desktop client: http://otr.concordia-ny.edu/ .

2. You will be asked to choose your organization. Select the default "ccny.edu" then click Submit.

3. Sign in using your "Active Directory" username and password previously emailed to you. Do not check "start in Kiosk mode" or "Login with SSL client certificate."

4. You will get a message asking to allow Java to run. Make sure you respond in the affirmative for all when prompted.

5. After you are signed in you may see a SSL Security Alert message, click Yes to proceed.

6. Now we should be logged into the portal. You must change your password! To do that, click on the "My Profile" Tab, fill in the request information, then click Change Password.account config 3.png

After changing the password you will be logged out. Log in again using your newly changed password to confirm the changes.


Downloading Virtual Desktop

After logging in, from the OneGate portal you can connect to the Virtual Desktop from your web-browser. Follow the steps below to download.

7. Select the client for your current operating system on the left side of your screen.

8. This will download the installer. Launch the download and follow the steps in the installer.

9. Launch the program.

10. The program will now let you connect and sign in. Make sure the "OneGate Server" is set to otr.concordia-ny.edu and sign in with your username and password.

11. Double click Compact under "Propalms Virtual Desktops."

12. You will now begin connecting to the virtual desktop. A window will pop up asking you to verify the identity of the remote computer. Click Yes to proceed.

13. The virtual desktop will now log you in and prepare your desktop. This may take a few minutes.


Logging Out

Once you are done using CCNY's virtual desktop you must log out!

CLICKING THE X AND CLOSING THE WINDOW IS NOT SUFFICIENT. YOU MUST LOG OFF FROM WITHIN WINDOWS IN THE VIRTUAL MACHINE. For more information on how to do that, click here.
